Velo Domestique competing in the English Aeropress Championship

The speciality coffee competition world can sometimes be an exclusive and introvert part of the industry. However the Aeropress World Championship turns this on its head, creating an event that is exciting and engaging for coffee professionals, homebrew enthusiasts, spectators and competitors alike.

This approach that has drawn us to enter our first ever World Aeropress Championship. The initial stage for us is the English champs being held at Ozone Coffee this Saturday (October 12th).

Our coffee team are experts of the Aeropress, regularly making over 30 for customers in a single day. Kyle Grainger, Antony Threadgold and Dan Armstrong will be representing Velo Domestique, Bournemouth and the South Coast. They have been fine-tuning their recipes using the Rwandan single origin from the crew at Bad Hand Coffee.

The event is open to the public to spectate, doors open from 16:00 and the competition starts at 16:30. Ozone are hosting the comp at their new Bethnal Green location if you can make it we’d love to see you there. Entry is free, and there’s food, beer, cocktails and music until late.

If you can’t make it up to London for the competition but still want to try some delicious Ozone coffee, check out what we have in as our latest guest.
